1 week post-op first leg surgery! I’m bruised, swollen and the itching has begun in earnest. The stitches feel like they want to come out on their own – so pokey!
Today I received the shirt stays/compression suspenders I ordered (link below). Hey were recommended by Clover in the Lipedema Sisters USA group and am I ever thankful! The garment still slips down but I don’t need to hike them up every time I move. Amazing how much this has increased my mood! Now if I could get the ankle to stay over my heel that would be fantastic!

Bruises on my ankles and feet continue to progress (and gross out my kids!).
I had my first lymphatic massage yesterday. I drove for the first time, too. A few self-pity tears getting in and out of the car. Had to sit on a pillow, too! But it was worth it – I definitely felt better after. I’m going back on Thursday and two times a week for the next two weeks.
My biggest challenge is walking. Generally walking and getting walks in. Inner thighs are swollen enough so I feel like I have a bowling ball down there! On a good day I’m a slow walker and now it’s zombie apocalypse slow.
I did go for a 20 minute zombie shuffle tonight, after dark. Perfect temperature with a nice breeze and a smoke-induced red-tinted moon. It’s been hot here and smoky from the Canadian wildfires so walking during the day was too daunting. And I hate to scare the neighbors.

Besides the itching and swelling I’ve started having painful, sharp zings. So bad my leg jumps. They are mainly in one or two spots. I have researched and talked to the doctor’s office and this is apparently normal. That doesn’t mean they aren’t awful! It happens when I’m laying down, elevating my legs. Have you had these? How long did they last?
This is getting long! I can ramble but hopefully this might help if you have legs surgery coming up.
