Well, that hurt

On the table, glad I had those lashes tinted!

1day post op report. Spent most of the last 30 hours sleeping. And moaning in pain. I’ve been drinking lots of water and eating light meals. And crying a bit. Bathroom is the hardest part because it involves the most moving!

Dr. Hagerty, Kaitlyn and Alyssa were nothing but pure kindness. I had a few rough moments and they got me through. Not going to lie, this abs/flanks Lipedema removal surgery was pretty brutal. Several times when he was near my ribs or hips I thought there would be a puncture for sure! I kept a towel over my eyes the whole time, to hide the surgery and to catch the tears, I cry when I’m anxious. All of that Lamaze breathing I learned having babies really came in handy. It was like having a tattoo done on the inside. So weird being split apart.

The whole thing took about 4 hours. I didn’t realize that liposuction is done in two parts, once all over with the cannula to numb everything and then back in a second time after a short break (and a snack!) to do the actual removal. They were able to get the full 5 liters, even taking more off my lower back to help with the leg surgeries. Seeing all of that Lipedema fat in the canisters was rather liberating.

A whole lotta fat in the right place

I have had far less leakage than I thought. So that’s a good thing. Hard to tell much difference yet, that will take months.

My 20 minute pace up and down the 4th floor.

    1. Oxford Suites Spokane Valley. They have a special price for Dr. Hagerty’s patients. It’s only 5 minutes away!
